iMac (Early 2001)

Introduced: February 2001
Terminated: July 2001

Description

Running a PowerPC G3 processor at 400 or 500Mhz, the iMac (Early 2001) had a hard drive with 10 or 20Gb of space.  It had a slot-loading 24x CD-ROM.  The graphics card was either an ATI Rage 128 Pro or Rage 128 Ultra. It shipped with the Apple Pro Keyboard and Pro Mouse.  There were two new colors available in the cases in addition to the existing Indigo: Blue Dalmatian and Flower Power.

History

With the iMac (Early 2001), Apple discontinued the Sage and Ruby cases.  The two new case colors were actually patterns molded into the plastic.  The low-end model was available only in the Indigo for $899.  The higher end model was available in all three case options and was $1199.
